National Book Week kicked off with an exciting Day 1 full of inspiring and creative activities.

The Storytelling Contest featured amazing tales that captivated the audience, while the Scavenger Hunt had teams solving clues and uncovering hidden gems. The day ended on a heartfelt note with powerful performances during the Spoken Word Poetry session. Day 2 was equally thrilling, starting with the Family Feud: National Book Week Edition, where teams showcased their literary knowledge in a fun and competitive trivia game. The Cosplay Contest brought book characters to life with stunning costumes and performances, culminating in a memorable awards ceremony that celebrated everyone’s achievements

SHS General Orientation

To help the graduating students of Olivarez College Tagaytay prepare for their commencement exercises and collegiate life, an orientation was held at the OCT Gymnasium on November 25, 2024.

The Capella

The session provided essential information on semester requirements, graduation matters, upcoming events, and available college programs. Department heads from the College Department discussed the range of courses offered at OCT, while Senior High School Department heads led the orientation, offering a detailed overview of the second semester.

With graduation approaching, this seminar served as a roadmap for the final stretch of their academic journey, helping Grade 12 students prepare for their next steps at OCT.

Olivarez College Tagaytay celebrates the outstanding success of its newly registered nurses, who achieved an impressive 96.30% passing rate in the 2024 Nurse Licensure Examination. Out of 28 first-time takers, 27 passed, surpassing the national passing rate of 84.99%. This remarkable achievement highlights the dedication and excellence of the college’s nursing program. The entire Olivarez College community is proud of the accomplishments of these new nurses.

Decades Of Excellence

Olivarez College Tagaytay (OCT) recently celebrated its 20th Founding Anniversary with week-long activities and events that concluded with an awarding and closing program held at the OCT Gymnasium on March 16, 2024. The foundation week was a reflection of the school's past achievements and growth, while also looking forward to the future with hope and youth.

During the closing program, winners of different competitions were announced, including E-Games, Sportsfest, Cheerdance, and Overall Champions for the founding anniversary.

Olivarez College Tagaytay successfully welcomed college freshmen, transferees, and returnees from every department into the academic year 2024-2025 at the Tagaytay Country Hotel (TCH) Pavilion on the 21st day of August 2024.

OCT Pushed Through Academic Year 2024-2025

Dr. Jean Rizza Dela Cruz, College Dean, opened the day by assuring the students of a quality education and improvements for the Olivarians. “What we can assure you is that this is a new opportunity for learning and growth," said Dr. Dela Cruz in her opening remarks.

“Rest assured that our faculty members and our members of the administration will be supporting you all the way, so we will be able to achieve your dreams and your goals in life," she added as she talked about the challenges that will be encountered along the student’s academic journey.

Moreover, a surprise was revealed in the orientation, as OCT’s classroom, laboratories, and other facilities are now fully equipped with air conditioning units.

In addition to welcoming the students, OCT held a raffle during the program to distribute merchandise such as tote bags and mugs, as well as cash prizes and a brand new laptop.

Discussion of policies, reminders, and guidance was also done by the respective heads of each department.

The said orientation was conducted in two batches: students from the Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Accounting Information System, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology held their orientation in the morning.

On the other hand, the second batch held theirs in the afternoon and consisted of students from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Elementary Education, as well as the students of Caregiving and Bread and Pastry Production (TESDA short courses).

Lastly, BS Information Technology was recognized and topped as the outstanding enrollment growth rate for the academic year, while BS Criminology remains the most populated program in OCT.

The event focused on "Demystifying Excellence in the Better Normal Landscape," highlighting the students' readiness to move on to the next phase of their lives.

The awards ceremony, which took place at the Convention Center, was attended by excited families, esteemed faculty members, administrators, and honored guests. The commencement theme, "Demystifying Excellence in the Better Normal Landscape," signified a shift from traditional graduation ceremonies while remaining an enjoyable and significant experience.

Dr. Rommel Pilapil Sergio, a scholar and lecturer, delivered a moving speech emphasizing the need to embrace change for better achievement. His words profoundly impacted both the graduates and the audience, stressing the importance of intelligent visioning and adapting to the new normal.

Special awards were given to outstanding students excelling in academic achievement, leadership, and community service

As tassels were turned and caps were thrown, the Class of 2024 officially graduated, feeling palpable excitement and a sense of achievement. They celebrated their accomplishments and looked forward to the future.

Equipped with knowledge and fond memories from their years at OCT, the graduates move forward confidently, ready to face the following stages of their lives. They are inspired to contribute to creating a better normal after the pandemic, building on the knowledge and inspiration gained from their graduation.
